These are resources I created for my classroom, as I have worked to incorporate the system created by the Two Sisters. I have been inspired by their work and hope to share what I have learned for intermediate classrooms.

Daily CAFE™ Weekly Lessons

  Background: I have been using the Reading Workshop model for my classroom for several years, incorporating Guided Reading with Independent Reading using the basal textbook, guided readers and trade books. I have also developed Literacy Centers to cover ELA skills, such as, Grammar, Fluency, Word Work, Reading Strategies, etc. After stumbling upon the Daily CAFE™  one summer, I immediately embraced the first book, The Daily 5™ and subsequently read The CAFE™ Book as soon as it was published. Our district adopted the Harcourt School Storytown Series and I have worked to incorporate it as well into the framework that has worked so well for my 5th graders. I hope you can use and modify my resources to work for you!
