Fifth Grade Teachers

Candy Nail (Grade Chair) - Social Studies, Reading & English Language Arts

I grew up in Fayetteville, attending Fayette County schools from elementary through high school. I graduated from the University of Georgia with an undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education.  I received my Master’s and Specialist’s degrees from Georgia State University also in Early Childhood Education.  This is my twenty-eighth year of teaching.  I have taught at Cleveland Elementary since it opened in 2002.  I have taught 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade throughout my career.  My husband, Michael, and I live here in Fayetteville with our two children, Mackenzie and Parker.  Mackenzie is a college junior at Georgia State University, and Parker is a senior at Whitewater High School.  I enjoy long-distance running, camping, boating, shopping, and spending time with my family. I also enjoy watching both of my children compete in college and high school cross country and track meets.  Go GSU Panthers and WHS Wildcats!
