This will be my
11th year of teaching. I am looking forward to the
wonderful year that we will have in 5th grade. This
is my 9th year at Cleveland and previously I taught
3rd grade in Upson County. I was born and raised in
Georgia. I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in
Education from LaGrange College and with a Master’s
degree from Troy State University. I am married to
Bart Phillips, who teaches and coaches at Fayette
County High School. We have a 22 month old son,
Payne. I enjoy reading, watching football and
cooking.

I am thrilled to be
a part of the 5th grade team at
Cleveland.
This will be my 20th year of teaching.
I have taught all grades from
kindergarten to 6th grade, but my heart
is with the 5th grade age group.
This
is my 6th year at
Cleveland. I
have
also previously lived in
Florida,
Texas,
Hawaii,
Washington, and
Colorado.
I
graduated with a Bachelor of Science from
the
University of
Colorado
and a Master of Education degree.
I enjoy spending
time with my husband and 2 children
swimming, water skiing, hiking, and
gardening. I am looking forward to
working with you and your child to make
this year a great success.

 Catherine Douthard -
Reading/English Language Arts, Math & Science
This is my 21st
year of teaching in Fayette County. I helped open
Cleveland Elementary in 2002. I
have a Master of Science in
Instructional Technology. I have
taught 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th grades. I
have also taught Remedial Math for
grades 2-5 and Technology for grades
K-5. I am married to C.L. Douthard, a Landscape Architect
and we have a 17 year-old son, Alex.
My hobbies include reading,
technology, traveling and scuba
diving! I am so excited about this year! I
am planning many hands-on activities
using technology to help students
develop a deeper understanding of
Reading, Math and Science in the real
world.

Jennifer Borngesser -
Reading/English Language Arts, Math & Social Studies
I am very excited to
become a part of the Cleveland family and start an
exciting year with students! This will be my fifth
year teaching. Previously, I have taught 3rd
grade, Pre-K, and 4th/5th
grade EIP. I was born and raised in Peachtree City.
I have two boys, ages eight and ten, and a wonderful
husband of 11 years who also teaches. I received my
undergraduate degree in 2000 and my Masters in 2011.
I’m looking forward to being a Cleveland Croc!!!
